A Wisconsin woman, who became pen pals with Joe Exotic, received a series of exclusive letters from the Netflix star.
The woman took photos of both the envelopes and the letters themselves in order to keep a record of her correspondence.
She then got in touch with the team at Talk to the Press and we got the story published on The Daily Mail Online. The story was also shared with The Sun, who also published it online.
HOW TO SELL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO THE PRESS
After reading the letters and seeing that Exotic was trapped in solitary confinement, the tipster realized her photos of the notes might have some value.
She contacted Talk to the Press through the online form – right here.
After an interview with one of our reporters, she sent the photos, which our reporter vetted and verified.
WHAT DO WE PAY?
Our reporter then contacted the Daily Mail with the story and the photos. The Daily Mail then agreed to purchase the exclusive publishing rights to the story.
The piece was published online and garnered hundreds of shares and comments. The tipster was then paid for her contribution.
Following a 24-hour exclusivity period, the tipster received 50% of the money any outlet paid to use the video. She also made 50% of our original deal with the Daily Mail.
Talk to the Press works with many major international media companies, as well as many domestic outlets. Talk to the Press is designed to get tipsters paid. Any money we make, our tipsters make half. It’s always our goal to make as much money as possible for both parties.
